Of all the DC's I've pulled apart, this one is a puzzel. Usually the gears can be worn or ground down, but the chains and sprockets are still in good shape. This one was just the oposite. The gears are in nice shape, but the chains and sprockets are the most shot I've ever seen. They were so bad that one side would completely jam and force the differential to speed up the other side. I was convinced it had high speed sprockets. Not so, just totally shot chains, and worn sprockets, some teeth broken off. This is a early 1950 model built in late 49, does anyone know if Case put out a batch of soft chains??

I heard tell of a HD chain in a DC.I think all chains come in standard or HD. The only DC I ever bought with a busted chain was a foot clutch DC.
