990A engine

Hi all, I have an oil leak where the engine sits on, and is bolted to, the chassis rail. Can this gasket be replaced by just lifting the engine or does the whole tractor have to be split in two.. Thanks in advance

Hi, Scooby from U.K. Had to do this more than once on DBs. Trouble is that the engine "shuffles" on the chassis. As far as I can remember you can do it by just lifting the engine. But the last time I did it (on a 1212) I didn"t use the proper gasket but used a Hylomar sealant that never sets hard. That way a little bit of shuffling is O.K. and so it proved successful. Hope this helps.
