Am having difficulties finding information about this Case engine. When I located this it was used as a power plant for a John Deere corn sheller. If anyone has any idea about this monster please let me know.

Thanks

Like brother Les says, I have two LAE's. I run a #1 Lane sawmill with my "51 and a 24" board planer with my "41. Great old engines. I burn kerosene in the mill one.. I have the original parts book too.

Charlie,
Is this actually a Case motor or is it International. I had a gentleman in the store the other day and had us confused between what he wanted vs the LAE. I think his was a 1 cylinder stationaty engine. I do know Case made a few stationary engines but I don't know anything about them. If yours is a four cylinder then it maybe a LAE but for some reason I think you have something else.

Charlie; This would be the LAE engine. Same as used in the LA tractors. They have 403 cubic inches and were available to run on almost any fuel, Gasoline, Keroene, ditillate, LP and even natural gas. They were a favorite engine for sawmills, irrigation pumps and portable feed grinding trucks. Power output could be anywhere from about 50 horsepower to 65 horsepower. The big oil capacity and 15 gallon cooling system made these engines desirable for applications where they could be run for a lot of long hours and need very little monitoring... Gene

What you are referring to is a Case LAE. It has the same engine as an LA trsctor, but was a stationary power unit. I have one here with a cracked block that I'm using for parts.
