Hey, you guys need valves and can't find them?? Try this Cambodian trick. Get an old truck engine with a larger valve and any good machinist can turn it down to a valve your size. The material is right since it is a valve being turned into a valve. We've done it many times and they look and work like new. Costs us $8.00 per valve here in Cambodia, I know it will be more in the States, but you gotta admit, it is a slick trick.

Here is another one. We are putting a 260 CI Mazda Diesel 2.5 ton truck engine in a DC. The big problem is that the crank shaft is an 8 bolt unit and the Case flywheel is 6 bolts, plus the Case flywheel is heavier. What to do?? First machine off the skirt of the Case flywheel to get it to the same weight, then cut plugs for the case flywheel bolt holes a couple of thousandths oversize. Put the flywell in the oven and the plugs in the freezer and then drive them in. Weld the plugs on both sides and machine flat, then drill eight new holes, balance, and away you go.

Hey Ted: No problem finding DC valves here. I've supplied dozens of them.

Just be sure the valve is not sodium-filled before cutting into it!
