Elmer other posters have recommended that I pose my question to you. Have a David Brown 1210 where the shift lever sometimes get stuck when going between reverse and any forward gear. This does not happen all the time but seems to happen more when attempting to shift quickly or when the tractor is on a slight incline. When the sticking occurs the only way to get the lever unstuck is to unbolt the shift lever and stick a screwdriver down inside the transmission and slide the tang with a screwdriver. It does not take much effort to slide the tang so there does not seem to be a logical reason for the sticking. Any ideas?

Hate to tell you, but you have to split the tractor at the rear housing and replace the shifter forks in the transmission. The side of that little pocket that the shifter ball sits in has a groove wore in it and allows the shifter ball to slip through when pulling back out of reverse.

Elmer, Thanks for the advice regarding the 1210. A neighbor will be interested in the information you provided to me too. He has a 1410 with loader that has pretty much the same problem. The only difference is he can at least eventually get the shift lever unstuck without unbolting it, but it sometimes takes a great deal of time and effort to do so. Sounds like his problem will eventually progress to the point that the 1210 is now. Do you think that the required repair parts will be hard to find? Still available from Case? Thanks again and I may contact you again for your expertise.
