Wondering if the SC wheels fit on a S

First of all what a GREAT site...All the great information you can get....My question is... Can I put the Wheels from a SC on my S ?? the SC wheels are CAST & 15" the ones on my S are steel & 16"...quess I'm wondering if my Hubs & bearings can take the extra weight.... THANKS for any information....Keep up the GREAT work everyone does out there to HELP W/the questions we {not so smart in it yet }get from you... Read it every nite and get some great advice...THANKS again for any help....Mark

yes the wheels will fit and will take the weight the s came with ether wheel.

Mark; The axles are different between the S and SC. The S uses a fixed tread with a tapered hub and tapered axle while the SC uses a long straight axle with a wheel hub that can be clamped at different locations for width adjustment. The S uses 26 inch diameter tires and the SC uses 38 inch diameter tires. Looks to me like you would have to put SC axles in the S to make it work. FWIW the LA hub uses the same taper on the axle and looks to me that LA wheels and tires would mount on a S. Maybe???.. Gene

I think you are talking about interchanging the front wheels only. I do believe that the cast and stamped steel wheels can be interchanged. The SC4's have the cast wheels on them. I have a 41 SC with stamped steel fronts and they interchange with the cast wheels on my 48. Try one and see.
