Guys. Got a nice Christmas gift from my wife of a 1:12 Collector scale SC Case. Anyone know anything about these? It's from the Franklin Mint and wondering about the value now and do these appreciate? Also, do they make replicas of the VAC? A nice gift, you will probably all agree, and she has shown little interest in tractors, but knows of love affair with them and guess she's not jealous. Ha!

I have both the Franklin mint model and a real '44 SC. I also have some other Franklin mint models. When they build a model they use someone's tractor to build it to. If you got the literature with the model it might talk about that. The model has a modern fuel filter and the "CASE" plate on the hood is the wrong color scheme (although I like it better than the original). This is all somewhat authentic because of the build changes by the Case Company and owner modifications it is rare to find two identical SCs. A '41 SC has different fenders, lights, hitch, clutch handle, etc than the post war and early 50s tractors. Only a few '44s had brass brake pedals - a wartime modification due to material availability. So SCs have always been politcally correct as there is much diversification. :^)

It is franklin mint they cost about 125 new .I have one also ,they have a lot of detal. There are some thing I don't like 1/12 scale as most tractors are 1/16 and the SC should not have an eaglehitch ,it is not corect for that tractor.

I agree with CK Richard. The tractor is very nice with a lot of very good detail. I guess that would have been difficult at 1:16, hence they used 1:12. I also have a 1950 model JD 12A combine (my honey got both for me last year) and I would like to hitch it up because that is the setup my dad had; but it does not look right to have a 1:16 combine attached to a 1:12 tractor! I feel the same about the eagle hitch. Although some of the newer models had it, the older ones did not.
