It's actually a 940 but as far as I can tell it's the same as 930. The pto shaft turns all the time. I put a 2x6 board against it trying to stop it but it won't stop. Not sure what to do short of taking it completely apart to find the problem. I wonder if the clutches are stuck together or if the needle bearing is seized. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Adjusting the clutch probably won't slove the problem, your PTO brake is probably worn out, which requires taking the PTO out of the tractor to fix, as far as I've been told. My 930CK 8sp does the same thing.

The earlier 930's like Larry's have no brake on the pto, the later 8 speeds do.

I have a 930 8 speed that the pto spins all the time. There is a pto clutch adj on mine. Never monkeyed with it though. Most implements I run (manure spreader, haybine etc.) require enough power to stop it when not engaged.

I couldn't get mine into the higher gears either. check under the operators platform where the shifter shaft goes into the top of the transmission, mine had so much caked up dirt laying there that kept the shaft from going back far enough to get to the high gears, I've got a 4 ft blowgun that would reach clear into that area from both sides of the tractor, it took a while to get all the dirt out of there, but I have all 6 gears now. You may be able to look down from the top to see if there is a lot of dirt there, hopefully you dont have problems inside.
