Dad and I just bought a (I think) 1936 Case CC, with serial #C331912 on steel. This tractor is painted orange,I thought all CC tractor's were painted gray. I work in a auto body shop and I know it's only been painted one time.

Jereme, Glad to hear you have a cc.I own a few c and cc of that time period. I thought a few were painted only orange but found out they were all painted the LC gray. My father told me that my grandfather owned a few garages in Ill.in the late 30,s and 40,s and was contracted by a few case dealers to repaint alot of c and cc and L,s I was told that it was a easy job to take a pretty new tractor and steam them down and repaint them. I guess the dealers didnt want a gray tractor sitting around when the new tractors came out in 1939.Dad says he seen alot of train loads of tractors coming out of racine and never seen anything orange untill 1939. Hard for us to tell now some 70 some years later. good luck Bill

My Dad, who's 73 years old says he would like to buy a Case CC tractor. A project tractor would be acceptable, and maybe preferred. Do you have any leads for a Model CC?

WE have a 37 CC that has orange paint under the gray paint. Wonder if I should paint it orange or gray, Any thoughts?

Jereme,I personally would paint it the LC grey.My 1938 CH is painted LC grey. My daughters hand painted it back in 1996 one weekend when I was out of town. After I looked at their faces when I first seen it I deceided to keep it that way. Its on page 29 of the heritage Eagle mag. this month, You can still get the LC paint from your dealer. Try and make sure you have any oil leaks fixed before painting. Bill

Dad and I had to move it to the back hog shed or Mom will have a fit if she sees that we bought another tractor.

A CC of that vintage should be painted Case LC Grey. Are you sure that you have a CC, because your serial number has only 1 "C" in it. Is it a wide front or narrow front end?

The plate on tool box says size CC then below the serial number and it has a narrow front.
