Since I'm still rather new to Case, I have a question about Case eagle statues. I visited an acquaintance who owned 2 of the "OLD ABES". He said that he paid $10,000 & $8,500 for them. Is this for real? How many of them were made? What is the realistic value of them? A neighbor not far from me made one out of a log with a chain saw and painted it. Big cost savings! Happy holidays to everyone out there!

I started working for Case in 04-01-1970 and Won 1 of the I believe 21 that the Company had at the Main office.Mine had the Base broken in shipment and I replaceed it with a disk blade. At that time I was offered 700.00 for it-now weathered.every dealer had one so there is at least 300-400 at that time. The old Case dealer in MEXACALLI Mex. had a new one that he never put up.

I live close to Racine. About 10 yrs. ago my cousin, who does sandblasting for a second job, blasted about 6 of them for Case. They were trying to buy as many as they could find, restore them, and put them in a meuseum. A guy close by has made a mold and makes them for $2500.

Are there any original Case eagle on a globe left from the factory. Years ago I seen a picture of some very big eagles infront of the Case buildings in Racine?

Those Case Eagle statues are fairly rare, reason for the high price I guess. I have recently heard though that a fellow has made a mold of them ,full size, and is now casstiing them in aluminum. Haven't heard what his price will be and what that might do to value of cast iron ones. maybe nothing. Has anyone else heard of this. Roger

I have a guy locally who can get me the full size aluminum eagles on the globe complete with the stand, but they don't have the Case logo. I have considered obtaining a couple and adding the logo myself. I have extensive experience in aluminum fabrication and all the stuff I'd need to do a nice job of it. If I did one I'd place it on "Da Bay" clearly marked as a replica, and just see what it would do out of curiosity.

When I bought my 1930 L this summer the seller included a solid brass "Old Abe" statuette that is about 11" tall with a 3-4" diameter base, and has a threaded stud embedded in the bottom of the casting so that it can be mounted on the radiator cap (like you would mount a Boyce Motometer). Anybody know anything about these?

OK, I wrote that under the influence of drugs, and away from home. I measured it this morning, and its only 7" tall. But it is still solid brass, and has an elliptical base that conforms to the shape of the radiator cap. But, what is it? I've never seen a picture of one in any of the gazillions of photos of Case stuff I've looked at.

11 inches tall? That makes for quite a jaywalker sight now don't it?

Have an ad from a company in Noble IL that is casting Old Abe the Case eagle. 4 1/2 ft tall and weighing 700 lbs. Might be a steal at only $900.00 from the pic it loooks good and has CASE cast into the globe.
