Are these tractors worth anything, that is reliable, parts obtainability, performance etc?

Wish I had my 930 CK back. 8 speed one. Used ether every morning for 5000 hours with no truble. Never overheated, though I know a lot of 1030s did. Yes, I did lug it more that I should..seemed to like it. Traded it in for all most what I paid for it (7000 with out 3 point) for used 1200.

Thanks for the comments! I can tell my wife now that I bought these! Re: using ether. Does the 930 have pre-heaters or glow plugs?

I have never had any problems getting parts for a 930 or a 1030 Case tractor. You will find out that not much ever goes wrong with them. They are easy on fuel, have good power for a 90hp tractor, and they are cheap to buy. In Illinois you can get one on a farm sale for $3000. to $5000. depending on the tractor and how many guys want it.

Great tractor! There are a couple of things to keep in mind. Keep the radiators clean and never use ether. The heads will crack easily. The second thing is to keep the transmission full of oil. If the oil level gets too low the reversing geaR CAN LOCK UP. Otherwise very reliable workhorse.

I have used ether on my 930 for 34 yrs. and never had a cracked head. Secret, always have the engine turning over when spraying in ether and than in short spurts.

PRETTY POWERFULL TRACTORS,PARTS UNAVAILABLE FOR THE MOST PART. I"M TRYING TO GET RID OF MY JI CASE TRACTORS SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU CAN"T GET PARTS FOR THEM. I LIKE MY 940 BUT SCARED TO EVER TAKE IT APART NOT KNOWING IF I CAN EVEN FIND PARTS.

ok Jerry, try finding a speedometer for my 940, it's a 1962 lpg model. I've spent many hours on the internet and called about 4 different places including Case dealer. They have supposedly searched the whole nation and say it "IS NOT AVAILABLE" I sure wish it was available, it's one of the few things not working on this good tractor.

You must live in Siberia or something. I have had very little problems finding new and used parts for most any Case made in the last 60 years - especially the 30 Series.

I've got 3 930's & an 830 & I dont have any trouble getting parts. Larry, you must have a dealer that dont want to or doesnt care about finding parts for you.

Thanks for the feedback!! Do you know or does any one know if there is a loader available for this tractor? The light on the dash comes on that says " Filter ". Which filter is that?

The filter light means you need to change fuel filters.

If a case head gets cracked it's from pulling it hard and shutting it down without cooling it off for 10 minutes at idle. My dad has been driving cases since thay came out and using either to start them since the start and have never had a cracked head. All you have to do is crank the engine and give it a 1-2 second shot and it should fire right up. We have always used hytran in the trans. with no trouble.

There is a pre heater in the intake manifold rather than glow plugs in each cylinder.

Thanks again for the help!

The preheater is engaged by turning the ignition switch counterclockwise and holding it there. I usually hold it there for about 20 seconds. Be sure not to use ether and the preheater together. I don't know that this will hurt anything. I've just been given the same warning from Dad for the last 25 years. It should be OK to use ether, just not with the manifold heater.

Your Dad is correct!! Especially loading them up with either prior to engaging pre-heater or glow plugs. It's kind of like turning the gas on your BBQ with the lid down then hitting the lighter.
