Hi All!
Awhile back I posted about battery woes and overcharging. The batts are 6Volts (2 of em) - 2 yrs old. They were fully charged and then I went for a 10 minute snow plow and smelled sulphur at the end - turns out they were both boiling! Ammeter says charging at 15 Amps right now. Consensus from the Board was voltage regulator faulty.
Took cover off of regulator this weekend, but all I see is 2 coils and 3 wires. 2 coming in one going out. How can I fix this myself? What should I look for...or can I fix this (with basic multitester)? There is a set of points on each coil too. Cheap fix is to put a switch on the charge wire, or just disconnect, then I can use batts for starting/running lights, and then put back on trickle charger when done. Any other ideas? Love to keep my Case top shape and original, but dont want to get dinged for $$$ and new regulator- just guessing here. Is there an equivalent jobber part #? Appreciate the advice.

I assume you need a regulator, if you have 12 volt generator # GHH 6001E-1,J you may be in luck with Neihoff reg.#AL 152T. If you have a different # generator post it and I will see what I can do.
