I have recently acquired a Case 1070, Foot pedal accelerator has stuck and disconnected, the hand throttle cable was broken some years ago and never replaced (they were using a small wire tied to the accelerator when we got it!) my question is what needs to be done to free up the foot pedal and/or how difficult is it to install a new throttle cable on the hand throttle. Any assitance would be appreciated!

Best advice for replacing the throttle cable is to get one for a 1270 or larger and some of the 90 series that goes all the way from the lever to the inj. pump. Will have to get the bracket that bolts to the engine block also. 100 times easier than trying to get it in that slot under the cab.

The hand control cable goes under the cab and is fastened to a notch on the bottom of the cab. It"s easier to reach by removing the battery box and left hand front cab mount. You"ll have to cut an open end wrench to the right length to loosen one of the nuts on the cable, since a full length one will not let you get to them. You"ll see what I mean when you there. You remove the lower left hand side panel to reach the cotter key that holds the end of the cable to the lever on the foot throttle rod, which actually moves the throttle on the pump. You remove the knobs on all the levers before you can remove the top to get to the nuts that hold the cable to the throttle lever.
