trying to get the engine started no spark is present at plugs. any tips for trouble shooting ingnition system. not familar with magneto system. tractor has positive ground system if that helps.

When was the mag working last? I have seen the ground wire running to the switch grounding itself. Disconnect the wire @ the mag & try it. The mag may also need a good cleaning & setting of the points. The mag is completely independant of the battery.

Thanks for the tips John. Just cleaned and adjusted the points, and followed the general knowlage info in the research & info section of this site and off she went.
