I am looking to find a replacement for the toolbox that originally came with the Case 1070 tractor. I'm not sure of the year but it
would have been one of the early models before they changed from
yellow in colour to white.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks

My yellow 970 did not even have a tool box on it. I found a nice one off a Case combine that was the right color and mounted it near the step into the cab. For my 2090 I found a toolbox off a Fox chopper and mounted it to the frame above the front axel. The faded Fox paint matches quite well. LOL DK

Unfortunatley I'm not looking to mount a toolbox on a 1070. I'm looking for the specific Case toolbox (which was unmounted, just loose in the cab) that came with the 1070.

However, thanks for your input.

I don't think that a 1070 ever came with a toolbox that was not mounted in the cab. The first ones were metal and later tractors had plastic boxes. They were mounted on top of the fuel tank on the left side of the seat. The "loose" toolboxes came with 4 wheel drive tractors (2470, 2670...).

A lot of the tool boxes never made it to the dealers. The 30 series boxes were bolted down but the 70 series where left loose in the cab.

I did pre-delivery inspections on dozens of these tractors and I never saw a 1070 that did not have the tool box bolted down in the cab.

I started working on them in 1977, a few years after they went to plastic boxes. Could the 7 and 870's been loose? I remember seeing those old boxes in cabs but just too far back to remember.

No. The only 70 series with loose toolboxes were the 4 wheel drives.
