Elmer DC Tom said to ask you about david brown tractors My question is about a case with the following on the tag. case 380 /2270 11010683 another tag on fender Davis mfg 380 R/R 1143496 and tag on loader Case L/L 4441775 Is this an industral DB 885??? The main frame casting is broken. Will any other david brown fames interchange?? Any body lse knowing if the main casting behind the engine and bolted to the rear housing will interchage please jump right in. The top casting seems ok but will not know till its tore down. I am thinking rather than part the tractor out it would make a grear loader if a good cating can be found. Have checked on welding and it would cost more than the tractor is worth. Thanks for your input. Bill Wilson in Montana

Elmer i am a welder and have welded some of these housings in the past. if it isn't broken into to many pieces i could probably weld it. it won't cost that much to weld it if it can be done. the biggest problem will be getting it to minnesota and back. so if you can't find a replacement you can e-mail me at jon_claudia@netzero.net.

It is an Industrial version of the 885. I looked in my parts books to see if something would cross over from another tractor. I have a 3800 David Brown carcass here and the rear axle housing is the same number as the 380CK. The number is however different on the lower transmission casing. It may change up to a later updated number. I will have to dig further. Can you find a casting number on the lower casting.

I'm in South Western Ontario. Your tractor is an 885 David Brown and the engine is built by David Brown. One of the toughest 3 cylinder engines made.

I am about 6-700 miles from there, pretty much in the center of BC, Williams Lake, its about 100 miles south of Prince George. Elmer now he's back east a tad, Ontario, bout 5-6 hour drive west of Ottawa if I remember correctly. Amazing but he can get me parts and ship them out for cheaper than I can buy locally..... ....and he always has the answers on David Brown stuff.
