Hello,

Is it possible to put the large 504 Case engine in a 930 comfort king. I once saw a 930 repowered
with a 1070 engine (451?). If I remember right the 451 bolts right in. Are the 451 and 504 the same motor? Is it also possible to bolt on the 451 cross flow heads onto the older powercell engine if different pistons are used? I think a late model 504 from an articulated tractor with 220 plus horse in a 930 Case would win some pulls! How strong is the 930 tranny and rearend?

Thanks

If you want to turbo it find a 451BDT from a 1170 1175 or 1270 in the tractor line. Get the rods and pistons from within the block. Then just get everything from the top of the block up. You will have to have custom injector lines made because of the pump on the wrong side for the injectors. Then you will need to use head gaskets from a 970 they fit the 1030 sleeves. As far as the heads 70s use 10 head bolts 30s uses 9 bolts. You just dont use the one. If you dont want to turbo it just get the same stuff but from a 1070. The tractor i have was built for pulling rules that state you have to have the stock block. Thats why all the work was done to it. Hope this helps Thad.

Hello,

Yes send pictures. Are the 930 engines and the later
504 the same engine other than the heads?

Thanks

They will fit. You have to do some work on the front casting and the block to make it all work. I have a 930 that the block has been bored out to a 504 direct injection heads put on it. I have pulled it with out a turbo and done just fine. I cant turbo it by our rules in this area. So im going to sell it to build something diff. A 504 turnred up will make some serious power. The 930 rear end will hold up fine. You could put 1175 rods and pistons in it and all the head parts and will work also. Thad
