Does anybody know the best place to get parts and service manuals for a LA? I would be interested in both new and used. Thanks

I have a running LA and a parts tractor. I have access to parts and service manuals from our old dealer and could probably xerox you some. As in your old e-mail, yes the rearend is a chain drive system. They are tough and indestructable. Get all of the comtaminated stuff out first. Next get started soaking in a concoxion of high detergent ATF , diesel, and marvel myster oil. Worst case synario, you can hook up low voltage electrolysis to do the trick but it is slow. The hydralic pressure will work but a simple system of plumbing is the fitting off of your compression tester to fit the head coupled to a port-a-power is slightly more controlled and gives you a gage on how much pressure you are applying. Also be care taking the rod caps off and # them, they have to go back in the same place. They are a little fragile because of the babbit bearings. Go luck and remember, Its all just nuts and bolts: if someone else put it together you can take it back apart!

Hi Kid,
Just went thru this. Any Case dealership has the Operators manual for about $15. They don"t make the service or parts catalog any more. I got those two off ebay. The parts manual took a while to find one but I don"t get on every week. Try to get a manual close to the year of the tractor because of design changes, like hydraulic brakes. I just got a magneto manual for $17 last week. These things are in great shape.
Good Luck!
Steve

oh yeah--you can get a Build Card from Case most of the time for $7. Just ask about it on this site & someone will give you the Case address in Racine.

If you can, it's better to find one for your specific tractor than one of those I&T Manuals that covers a bunch of different tractors.
