I have a Case stationary engine on skids. The number on the motor is VT328. It has a belt pully and tightener. It looks like a VA motor. Is this a Case manufatured unit or is it something some one has built? Thanks. Dave

Dave; Case made stationary power units from all of the tractor engines. They are identified by the letter E after the model number. Your power unit is identified as a VAE... Gene

That is the same casting # that is on my VAC 14 and I also have a 1949 vac that had that casting #. I used the block from the 49 vac on my VAC 14.

Hi Keith,
Glad you like Case engines. I have 2 LAE's and 2 LA's. I run a sawmill with one LAE and my 24" planer with the other. Just had to say, I married a gal from God's country and brought her back here to the hills of New Hampshire ( the OTHER God's country). Met her in Eugene. Good luck, Ralph.

yep like the case engines and tractors, am looking at another VAC to put back on the road of recovery. Hate to see this old iron sit and rust away or worse yet end up in the scrap heap. Eugene is 200 miles west of me. I am on the edge of the blue mountains. Close to the mighty Columbis river.Haven't been to your area since I was in the military, and that was just passing through. Seems like a 100 years ago now...LOL

VT328A is a block casting nr used on the VA series 124 cid engine. The cylinder head may have a casting nr VT148 or VT159. Look for the engine serial nr stamped above the starter, perhaps someone can ballpark a year built from that.
