The tractor, backhoe and loader all have their own serial number. You need the serial numbers for ordering parts because changes were made over the years. The number on the backhoe control pedestal is for the backhoe only. I believe the loader number is on the outboard side of the left loader frame. If you don't find it, let me know and I'll go look at mine and give you a better description.

Well Tim, the '33' on the backhoe indictes that is the model 33 backhoe attachment for your tractor. When you need parts for the loader or backhoe attachments specifically, that is what the dealer will need to know from you. The other number you found is clearly a serial number, but I don't know for what. It would be too far out of the year range to be for the tractor, so perhaps it is the engine ser. number. Where was the tag located that had that number stamped on it?

I found the plate on the side of the dash that controls the backhoe. How do I find out what year it was made and other such information? So I can get the right parts and fluids.

Look on the right side of the instrument panel where the steering wheel is located. The tractor serial number tag should be screwed on the dash housing there, and read "model: 580CK" with the serial number located below. There are a few other features that changed slightly over 580 production run, so if you could post some photos, it may help to identify the year if you can't locate the tag.
