611B filter for COM full of stuff - is this normal

Hi Guys! Still playing around with this 611B that followed me home. Cleaned the filter to the case-o-matic system the other day. Found some fine metal shavings, bits of what might be clutch facing material (?), and something like white paper with red writing on it (?!?) inside the filter. Is this normal, or is disaster brewing? Previous owner(s) were not kind to this tractor; may be decades of accumulation. Any words of wisdom for me? -- Kirk

When I first got my 611B home the filter had not been changed in 20 some years. I was pretty gunky, but I don't recall any metal shavings. If the previous owners were always grinding the gears, which is common with a COM, it may be from that. I would change the filters, use it for a while, then check to see if the problem persists before you get too worried. Did you change both hydraulic filters?
