Where to buy used tractor tires?

The tires our our newly acquired 530 CK leave a LOT to be desired. They are 14.9 x 24 6 ply tires. I don't really want to spend the money on new tires so am looking for a source for reasonably priced used tires. We live south of Little Rock Arkansas.

Any suggestions out there?

Thanks

Brad

I'd like to thank all of you for suggestions on locating some used tires. Yeah, I'd like to buy new but for a backhoe thats going to be used a few times a year thats hard to justify.

I'm originally from Lincoln Nebraska so I'll have my dad check out the place in Genoa. Might get lucky there. If not I'll check out the dealer near Memphis.

Thanks again!

Brad

Look for a salvage yard that has construction equipment, we have a great yard in southern ILL that has dozens of tires that size and most are mounted. but that is probley more of a drive than you want to take.

Try www.dickstires.com. I got a used rear tire from him and was very pleased, especially since it was a hard to find size. He is in Central NE.

good used rear tires are really hard to find as everyone wears them out before they give them up. I gave $900.00 for my SC in 1999 and it really needed tires in the worst way. I went all over Indiana that fall looking for used tires for it - no luck. Spent $600.00 for new tires installed (rears and fronts) in the spring of 2000 but have no regrets about doing it.

Check your local land fill. Our's will let us dig through and take tires for free. It is a great recycling program.

You might try your local road dept, if memory serves right thats about the size used on road graders. Most of the time at least in my area you can get them very cheap and some times free if you know the right person.
