The powersteering on my 66 930 is very weak I replaced the lines and have bled them and it still has very little power I do notice a little power assist but it doesnt work right my other 930 steers great. I can try bleeding it more though I don't think that is the problem as it has always been like this I also replaced the filter when I put on the new lines useing all OEM parts. I am thinking my pump needs work this tractor has the new style bolt on front wheels that are wider I don't believe these are original for a 6 speed not even a 66 model. I am going to put cast fronts back on maybe narrower tires like was on it orininally will make it steer easier. Any idea's on my problem?? Thanks. R Wyler

Read all your comments related to power steering.
I"m having trouble as well.
Do you have a contact for someone to rebuild the pump? Thanks,
Tony

your 930 does have the correct front wheels. i had one also. the hint about the spindles is a good one, mine had the same problem. i also had a 830 that the pump went bad and did the same thing

Thanks Jon I did not know that they put that style of fronts on the 6 speeds. It must be one of the very last ones. Yes that pump has to be bad it's time for a new one. R Wyler

Try jacking the front end up and then greasing the spindle king pins so the grease comes out at the top and bottom.Sometimes the grease only gets to one end and makes steering stiff.

Thanks Big Orange I never thought about the grease not getting to the bottom end. I am going to be haveing it jacked up anyhow since I am putting the correct front wheels on it very soon. R Wyler

I don't mean to ask a stupid question, but are you sure the belt is tight and not slipping? A loose or dried out old belt can silently slip just enough to create the steering problems you describe. We've had this problem on our 30 series tractors. Glenn F.

Thanks for the info Glenn I never thought about it quietly slipping I will look into that and if the belt looks bad I'll replace it. I am also useing auto trans fluid type A like the book says. If the belt is not slipping I will try bleeding some more and then if that doesnt solve it I think my pump will need to be looked at. R Wyler.
