What would be the possible consequences of using hyd. oil from places like Wal-Mart or Tractor Supply in the 70 series Agri-Kings? The containers claim compliance with manuf. requirements. Are they safe or would I be looking at problems down the road?

Neighbor uses a "off" brand of oil, lost 2 hydros and a powershift. Can't say its the oil for sure, but sure looks possible. If the 70 series is powershift I'd sure consider Hy-tran.

I discovered that Case industrial dealers sell the regular Case TCH oil and I imagine it would be compatible with a Case powershift. That is where I am going to start getting mine. Hy trans is fine I just can't bring myself to keep useing ih oil GRIN. R Wyler

Hey DBD: There are lots of good suppliers of quality oil. But what you must look for is Transmission-Hydraulic Fluid, as opposed to a straight Hydraulic Fluid.

I've tried some of this in various applications. (not just hydraulic). In my opinion WalMarts is not bad for a cheap oil. Better than some of the low priced offerings from the big companies like Esso's ProTec. Having said that I would not use any cheap oil in a Case powershift as the valves like to stick.

For cases we never had much luck with the off brands ,had good results from the oil from the IH dealer. And with cases hyd filter changes at 2-250 hours are a must to make them last.
