MY dad has a 700 Case 711-B sn# 8151810. My question is what oil should go in the transmission and what oil should go in the hydraulics? Next what is the capacity of each? And now for the big problem where do you put in the trans oil and the hydraulic oil?

A little more information the tractor has only one shift lever and is not a case-o-matic.

Any help would be great. Thank You.

I will revise my questions. For the transmission I plan to use 85 w 90 gear oil. When sitting on the seat under my left thigh there is about a 1 3/4 plug I assume is where to put the oil in. We drained out over 15 gallons of nasty milky looking oil. I need to know how much oil to put in. No dip sticks were found.

For the hydraulic which is best Universal trans-hydraulic oil or, type A ATF or, Case IH hydraulic oil? The fill plug for this I assume is the plug towards the back under the seat. The amount of hyd oil for a 730 is 10.5 quarts is it the same for the 700.

We live in Minnesota so that is a factor in oil choice with winter just around the corner.

Thank You.

Hey Hermie: 85 W 140 is best for the Tranny on that 700. You are correct on the fill plugs. For the Hyd. unit, I'd use Trans-Hyd. fluid. On my older units, I add 85 W 140 to it to add body to that thin oil. The Level plug for the hyd, unit is about 1/2 way up, either in the back or around the right side. I believe you'll put at least 15 gallons back in the Tranny. Just keep fillin till it comes up to the level plug.
