The thing to do is to first drive out the self locking pin holding the pully on. They can be quite stubborn. My best success has been to drill into the pin about 3/16" with a 3/16" bit and use a punch that fits the hole you made and keep pounding till the pin comes out. You avoid mushrooming the pin doing it this way. Use a good grade of penetrating oil and attach a puller. They don't give up easy.
