Guys, Read this! This is what I am talking about, but what about the gears in the transmission? Could they be flipped as well?

I thought you meant to put the little gear on the axle and drive it with the big geat. Should give about 60 miles per hour.

CAM,, YES YOU CAN REVERSE THEM BY CHANGEING THEM SIDE TO SIDE, THIS WILL GIVE YOU NEW SIDES OF THE TEETH TO PULL ON, I HAVE NEVER FOUND ANY DC SPROCKETS WORE ENOUGH TO WARRENT THIS BUT IT CAN BE DONE, DONT DO IT WITH OLD STRETCHED CHAIN TOM

my family has run L, LA, D, SC, 500, 930 hard for the past 60 years and have never even come close to wearing out chains yet. indestructable. have broken a couple though but those just had damaged sidelinks. have worn timing gears to a razor sharp edge too. very hardy tractors. dave.

If they were symetrcial you could possibly flip them. I"ve done that with sprockets before. Can"t say it really helps that much tho

Hey Camboted: I'm worried that you think "flip-flop" is good. I'm beginning to think you may be a "plant" from the Kerry campaign planting subliminal messages that "flip-flop" is good.

No, I don't think you can flip the tranny gears if you could the shift pattern would be backwards. I think they were talkin about just switchin them side to side.
