There is a gasket between the water pump housing and the block, but that's NOT your problem unless it's leaking between the block and water pump/timing gear housing. Rather, the seal in the water pump is defective. Replace the water pump. Rebuilt water pumps are reasonable in price.

If you have a timing cover with seperate water pump, there is a o ring or packing between the pump and timing cover.
