I have a David Brown 885N with a stuck 3-point. The lever that raises and lowers the 3-point no longer raises and lowers the 3-point. Currently, I'm stuck in the up position. I think something might be broken in the housing that the raise/lower lever works, but I don't want to get into it until I have an idea what's in there. Any suggestions?

If you have no idea on how the system works, it can cost you more in the end. I just had a 995 in that the previous owner had someone try to fix and it is no fun to figure out what was done before. Turned out the hold and bypass valves switched. It did some really strange things after that. If the lever linkage is adjusted properly just pull it in the full rearward position against the spring and it should blow the pressure relief valve open. Like the previous posting said the transport lock could be engaged as well.

Funny thing it is April 2005 -I have a 1975 885N and my 3 point is stuck in the up position as well,The transport lock is not engaged.
I had it parked for a year with the 3 point in the up position -I installed a heavy scraper on the 3pt & it shows no sign of going down.
I've pulled the lift position control to "select" and moved the range depth control to depth, height, &external, driven around with the heavy scraper on the back hoping it would go down.
No Dice -any ideas??
Thanks, Pepper

Check to make sure the transport lock hasn't been engaged by accident.A kid playing on the tractor could move the lever.
