How do I get a busted sleeve out? I have a VAC that I just got and it hase a sleeve that is busted. I got the piston out, but I'm not sure how to get the sleeve loose and I hate to take a hammer to it for fear of doing more damage. Any idea how much press are on these things? Also, can I buy just one sleeve or do I have to spend the $600 they want for a whole new set. The tractor is not worth that much.

I think Case/IH sells sleeves individually. Are there any old Case Dealers near you? I bought a homemade sleeve puller and it works great. Email me and I will send you a photo.

I made my own puller. Could be hard to do without the right equipment. I would try a piece of hardwood and large hammer and drive it out from the bottom. Sleeve is not pressed in, has 2 O'rings on the bottom. Once you get them started should come out fairly easy. And I have good used sleeves from a spare motor. Email me with address and I will ship you one. I have vac motor, casting #328
If I can be of any help let me know.....Keith

Best is to beg/borrow a sleeve puller. If they're the type that protrude through the bottom of the block a jack will often push them out. Someone should have 1 usable sleeve.

I did not have any luck with jack on my 830. Lifted front end off ground so we set the loader on a 4020 (I know bad) and lifted both tractor off the ground. Neighbor made me a puller and the
sleeves came out easly.
