I have a SC Case that has been in the family since the fifties. It originally had spoked wheels made with about 2" flat stock for the spokes with rubber tires. I replaced the wheels when the wheels rusted out from the fluid in them. It hasn't been run for about 15 years I am trying to determine the year of this tractor. The serial number is 705544SC. Thanks for any help.

Based on your description of the wheels- I would also bet that you are missing the first number of the serial # and it is a '43.

Every '43 I've ever run across has those type wheels- I don't know why.

See what I mean?

Hey Crem: That # is not complete. Should be 7 digits. I'm assuming the 1st digit is missing & it's a 4. That would make your "SC" a '43. In my spare time I fortune tell. Scour your SC very closely & see if I'm correct. I see other things in your future.

I thought that I had the complete number but could have missed the first one. I do not live where the tractor is so it may take a couple of days. I am thinking about fixing it up as I have a lot of memories using it back on the farm. What do you see in my future, a running SC tractor? :o))

ROFLMAO John! Actually I think Crem should just give up on that one and come buy my '44 since I've already done all the hard stuff. Most of what's left to do is cosmetic.

Don't sell Lazarus - buy this to keep him company! It is in PA, shouldn't be to far from you. Todd

We also had a DC just like the one in the picture. Those tractors sure had smooth clutches, but the steering arm hanging out to the side worked well for removing siding when turning a corner next to a shed. We also had a C, CC, and a L or something. The hand clutch worked in the opposite direction on them if I remember right. I was hoping that my SC would have been born in 1942 which would have put me on equal footing with it.

I like to give Les a hard time about his SC. I've got a '44 and Dad had a '41 when I was a kid. Like Les and his family, the Cases were black sheeps as red was the usual color of tractors used back then and even today. In the extended family over the years IH F-20, H, M, (2) 300 utilities, 574, (2) 656, 706, (2) 886, 1066, 1466. One 656, one 886, 1066, 1466 still in use today owned by my cousin.

Hey Les! Can't you even give that rusty old "risen from the dead" tractor away? Be sure to see my new post above regarding my new talent!:^)
