its a 1948 LA and i just got new tires. busted the old off the rims, which weren't a matched set and one is 15" wide, and the other 13". in all my books, the only thing i can determine, is that you generally put 4# more pressure in the furrow tire. cannot find any reason other than an accident to explain the difference in width...
any one want to educate me?

I AM SURE BOTH RIMS WERE 13" FOR THE LA'S THE 4# MORE IN FURROW DTIRE IS FOR THE ADDED WEIGHT ON THAT WHEEL WHEN IN THE FURROW

was almost sure that they had been mis matched, but wanted to make sure. i've got a parts tractor, that has 15's on both sides, so i can correct the one that runs...thanks a million fellas!

i guess, i was asking if the la was either equipped with two different width rims on the rear, or someone maybe set it up that way on purpose, for a reason??? i sort of think it was an accident, as i can find nothing in the operators or service manual...what are your thoughts?

The LA parts book gives the following tire sizes, 14:00-28, 14:00-30, 15:00-30, 12:75-28, 18:00-26 & 13.50-28. Rim sizes are, 8:00 T-28, 12-30, 16-26 & 14-30
Someone has mismatched the rim/tires.

What is your question? It sounds confusing to me, and your only question is "Anyone want to educate me?" What do you want to know? Sorry I dont understant.
