I have a Case L that is giving me clutch problems. Whenever I disengage the clutch lever, with a snap, the clutch does not fully release. If I wiggle the clutch lever in and out (engage and disengage), the clutch fully releases and the belt pulley stops turning. The clutch has no problem engaging. Just fully releasing. Any ideas what this can be? The clutch lever is not tight nor seems to be binding.

Well there are quite a few possibilities. Has the tractor sat abandoned for a long time? If so there might be enough rust on the clutch collar to bind the mechanism, Take off the hand hole cover and look at it while someone operates the lever. Check for a broken engage finger too. If the engage collar moves freely and the pressure plate moves freely moves all the way then you probably have a problem with the disc itself. Which means splitting it. ( not that hard on an L)
