I was reading in one of the Case books that some of the Case engineers, back in the 40's or 50's, tested a "D" skid engine at 5000 rpm. Can you believe that? Geared down it must have been kicking out close to 160hp. What's the most rpms you have turned on a "D" engine without it flying apart???

We turn ours over 3500, hasn't broke yet anyway, made a lot of trips down the track.

AS I UNDERSTAND IT FROM GUYS AT RACINE THOES ENGINES WERE WELL BALLANCED AND USED IN LANDING CRAFT DURING WWII, GUESS THEY DIDNT LAST LONG BEFORE THEY WERE DISTROYED OR SUNK SO THE ENGINES WERE JUST FINE DCTOM

We turn our DC 3500+ RPM. We really are not sure, it likely is more. It doesn"t make 160 HP. Bruce
