Do any of you fellows have a good method for removing the steering wheel from a 30 series Case? This is the wheel with the wide lower spoke. I don't see an easy way to get a puller under the hub without breaking the covering all to pieces. Also, I still need your suggestions regarding my 430 steering box problems (see post on tractor board). Thanks.

Early 430's should have a felt seal and seal cup. You might be able to take the cover off, remove the shaft and make your own seal.

Hey Pat: I don't remember any pulling holes, but I shim the back side of the wheel up, and with a small punch, whack down on the center of the shaft. It's a tapered shaft.

It's been so long since I pulled one, it's hard to remember. But I think once you remove the Eagle center cap, nut and washer, you'll find two holes that are drilled and tapped for bolts. Use them to force the wheel off the shaft. And if I'm wrong, someone out there will surely let us know.
