Guys, I posted the question below as I recently bought this tractor. (Paid too much, but fell in love - sucker born every minute) It is listed as a 1952 VAC-13. It appears to have both 34 inch rubber and an AWF. How long were they in production?? I checked all my books and cannot find anything on the 13. Can anyone tell me how many were made and when?

Ted,

I just figured out how to work this thing with the expand. I'm a little slow on these computers. I thought the computer grinch had forever baned me from responding. The wide front and the flat deck platform make it a vac 13. The vac 14 is a wide front with the platform down low so you set straddle of the tranny etc like the 'furggie'. Maybe Clauson can forgive me for using that word. The 14 could be ordered with a narrow front but my understanding is that the rears on a 14 were 28 only. They were usualy a wider tire though. It's still a 14 because of the platform. If you want a narrow front 13 you just ordered a vac12 because they were identical other than the front end configuration. The rears on the thirteen could be 28 or the taller tires. If you get a chance some time measure the actual height of the 32 and 34. You'll probably be surprised as I was that the 32 are sometimes shorter than the 28. The 9x32 were not a very deep tire. Hope this helps.

Cmon now, don't leave us hanging. How much did you pay for it? You'll find that once you share that with your comrades here at YT, your soul will be at rest. And probably some of us will even tell you that it was a great deal. Once again, HOW MUCH?

OK! I will end the curiosity. I paid $1950 for it and the box scraper plus a stright rer blade.

Hey, you got a FANTASTIC deal. I wish I could send you to buy a tractor for me. You really took the seller to the cleaners! Now, doesn't that make you feel good? Have a great sleep and enjoy that tractor. What could you spend less than 2 grand on and have as much fun?

I just picked up what I found out is a 1946 Case VAC. It has the narrow front end (tricycle style). I bought it from my grandad for $750 but it is very rough, not in nearly as good of shape as the one in the picture. It does have a working front end loader on it though, but because it is a homemade one I need to do some revamping where it is clamped to the rear axle houseing so that I can use the 3pt. hitch again, the clamps are now too close together to be able to attach an implement properly. I worked the tractor for about 4 hours today and I do have to say that it was more fun than I have had in ages.

The VAC-13 Adjustable wide front row crop was built from 1951-1953. The serial numbers started at 5570000. The VAC-14 Utility configuration was built in 1953-1954. I have not been able to come up with the serial nubers indicating the # built.
