According to my manual (case reprint) Les is right.

VAC-11 Single Front Wheel Narrow
VAC-12 Double Front Narrow
VAC-13 Fixed Wide Front
VAC-14 Adjustable wide front with low easy ride seat.

Need to amend my post.

VAC-13 had an adjustable wide front.

Designations started with tractor 5570001

there were a lot of littile changes over the years if you had a yard full you would see.The vac 14 was called sweet and low by case if you look at old adds.vac14 had low floor plates and the wide front ends were set back ,norrow front was an option as were 34 rear tires.

It's my understanding that the 14s had an adjustable wide front and the 13s were fixed.

I thought that a VAC-14 had the 28 inch rubber and that the VAC-13 had the 34 inch rubber. My dad's VAC-13 which my great uncle bought new in 1953 has an adjustable axle and as far as we know it is original.

I though that the VA had the rigid front axle.

By looking in the parts book the front axles are the same for the 13 and the 14 except for the spindle housings.

Late model VAC's have the steering geat box upfront in the bolster and the early ones have it on the top of the torque tube and then a steering pushrod arm up to the front end.

You may be right about the rubber sizes. My '52 VAC (I guess it would be a VAC 12) has 34 inch rubber. I'm looking at another '52 VAC which has an adjustable wide front and 28" rubber. Serial # is only 50 higher than mine.
