I just bought a 300 and when I got it home I topped off the hydro fluid and when I started the tractor up hydro fluid started gushing out of the inspection hole in the bell housing. How bad is it? Thanks Eddy

It will help you a lot to get a parts book and a service manual. This gives you two points of reference when working on this problem. The tractor has to be split at the clutch housing. Be very careful doing this. Use proper stands and hoist. Seals are available through local sources but are special order. I replaced the seals in my 311b this spring.

Barry & Mr. Amick, Thanks for the reply. Barry, did you replace the hydro oil seal in the back of the tractor,I think it is under the lift arms in the rear end housing?

The seals I replaced were on the clutch shaft and the live pump drive shaft. Oil was working its way in to the clutch causing it to slip.

The front shaft seal on the torque tube must be shot or the housing is cracked?
