Case 1030CK Shifting Problem

In 2001, I bought a Case 1030 Comfort King. It has been a workhorse! It has always had a problem with the gears grinding when being shifted. It seems to be getting worse. By idling the engine way down and going into 1st gear, I can get her going. As long as I hold the clutch in, I can then shift into any gear. There is no problem shifting in the field as long as I don't let the clutch out in neutral. If I do, then the gear grinding returns.

Can someone please advise me on what causes this and what I need to do to fix it? Thanks for your help.

Benny, The tube that the throw-out bearing slides on has broken loose inside clutch bell housing and when you push clutch petal down to put in gear it's not working the pressurre plate properly. I have a 930 doing that right now.

Hey Benny: Several things come to mind. A leaking rear engine main seal will cause the clutch to drag; Pressure plate out of adjustment, or a broken finger on the pressure plate.
