Can someone describe or post a pic showing how to check the level and where to add oil for the early VAC hydraulic pump (located in the belt pulley)

We don't use the pump, but would like to keep it full so it doesn't burn up! Have the operators manual, but a later version that only describes the crank mounted pump.

Its a 1949, #5351064

Thanks,
Brandon

The photo that was posted for you shows where to check the oil level in the torque tube, but not the hydraulic pump on the right side of the tractor. There is a large hex nut on the top of the belt pulley pump. The nut sits in near the tractor sheet metal. This nut has a dip stick mounted to it. The full mark is on the dip stick. You can use hydraulic oil, auto transmission fluid or motor oil in it.

My father owns a VAC. AS I recall, there is a hex plug near the top of the belt pulley housing that has a "dip stick" attached to it. The dip stick has a notch on it that indicated the correct fluid level.

Look at the picture. Down a few inches from where the steering column meets the torque tube, you will see a plug with a square head. That is where you check and add hydraulic fluid.
