I was in a salvage yard a few days ago and noticed on a 730 Diesel that there was a funny looking center cap in the sterring wheel. Instead of the normal one Eagle on the globe, this tractor had three Eagles all sharing one globe. Is this unique? or tractor specific? thanks for the info

The three eagle cap was used on later 68 and 69 30 series but they would fit all the older 30 series models. Can't say for sure to below posts but I'm almost positive that Case never had "full hydrastatic power steering on the 730-1030s for North American use.

Interesting answers here. My '64 830 has a single Eagle on a Case globe & POWER STEERING is written on the cap. Chromed all over & painted black around the Eagle.

I have a 1030 and it has a smooth cap ,there is nothing on it but if you pull the cap off it looks just like the one and three eagle caps with the o ring.anyone know anything about it?

Hello 730D,
You ask about the cap in the centre of the steering wheel of your CASE model "730" tractor having three eagles on it, the only tractors to use those caps were the later tractors factory fitted with full power steering (hydrostatic), the reason was because the steering wheel on those tractors including the "1200" can rotate around and around, and by having 3 Old Abes on the cap there is mostly one of them standing perpendicular on the cap regardless of where the wheel stops during steering the tractor.

Hope this answers your question.

I have a 500 row crop with the single eagle emblem in the cener of the steering wheel that tractor has no power steering, while my 930 has the three eagle center cap with power steering. Ive noticed that the tractors without powersteering have the single eagle centers, while the tractors with powersteering have the three eagle centers. just my two cents
