Case VAC-14 year???

I just moved and my serial number book is hidden somewhere. I looked at an old Case VAC-14 today (well, OK, I bought it) and the serial number is 6000701. The fella believes it is a 1958 but I think it's a little older. Can anyone out there cross reference that number and let me know? Also, this tractor has a front end loader. The fella says it is an original Case. Did the old VAC-14's come with front end loaders as an option? Thanks guys

I think the last of the VA series was built in 1955 but I could very well be wrong.

Click on the link, skip the the first set of letter series tractor serial numbers and scroll down mid page to "VA".

It appears to me that the numbering system changed from 57..... to 60..... during mid year 1953. Given you number is lower than the starting serial number for 1954 I am guessing it is a 1953.

I know there are VA's out there with the first 2 digits 57 but haven't seen or heard of any higher first 2 digits other than 60.

Anyone have or know of a serial nr starting with 58 or 59? I guess this is a question for DCTOM.

SERIAL NUMBERS WERE CHANGED TO 60 FOR ROCK ISLAND AND 80 FOR RACINE BUILT UNITS IN 1953, I HAVE NEVER SAW A 57 NUMBER EVEN IN ALL THE CARDS I HAVE HERE, YOU CAN E MAIL RICH TWOREk AT RACINE ([email protected]) and he will send you a copy of the build card for your tractor.

Thanks Tom, do you know if 1955 was the last build year for the VA series?

I was looking at the "Tractor Registry" on the left here. There are several VAC, VAS, & VAC14 with first 2 digit 57 serial nrs.

My guess would be a "56 model year.
