Thanks

I owned a Case S. Best I can remember it was a 1948. It was all painted up and needed to be run for a while as it blew some white smoke when it wasn't under a load. I sold it to buy books for school and wish to this day I never had. It was the funnest little tractor to play with. If you get it I don't think you would regret it.

Price is somewhat dependent upon location. If the tires are good and engine block is not cracked, could be worth $800. There are no overhaul "kits" available. Pistons and sleeves are still available from Case/IH. Remanufactured bearings are available from Don L. Don also has rings, valves and gaskets. It would be worth a little more if you rebuild the engine so the serial numbers match. Case parts are not cheap.

Any idea what year it is? How long has it been sitting? Is the engine manifold in good shape? The newer it is, the more it is probably worth. Serial number should be on the instrument panel. Here's what I would do. Check the radiator and see if there is antifreeze in it. Drain a small amount of oil out of the bottom of the oil pan to see if there is any antifreeze in the oil. If the antifreeze is where it is supposed to be, the block may be ok. If you are careful shen you free up the engine, you might be able to get by with only a set of pistons rings and gaskets?
