Mid Mich Old Gas Tractor ass'n in Oakley MI will be hosting the J.I. Case Collectors summer show on August 20-22. We plan to include a featured brand (Case only) pull in our schedule. Would like to keep the number of classes to a minimum, but want to accomodate the native weights of most popular Case models. Can we do it with 3-5 weight classes and be fair ? What might be our best choices ? The pull is as much a showcase as a competition. Input appreciated. Questions on show info can be sent to [email protected]
Hope many of you can attend.

If you are using the "feature" tractor, you will probably only have a few for each class anyway, I would pull any classes that they sign up, we pull a 31 C in 3500, 37 cc in 4500 & 5500, 51 DC in 5500,6500, 7500, 48 LA in 8,500, and friends pull in 9500 and 10500.

When they do feature tractor pulls that I have been to they are for bragging rights and fun only. There are no prizes or entry fees. There is no object to cut the number of weight classes. The more weight classes the better. If it is for fun you want as many enteries as possible and most guys are not going to put much effert into getting the weight of their tractor to fit the class. The classes need to fit every tractor. Around here they start at about 3000# and have a class every 1000# to about 8000#. If you plan on pulling the newer larger tractors they then run about 2000# breaks to the point that they include the largest tractor. Have Fun!

Our current weight class structure includes 14 classes, from 2750 to 8K, but that is further broken down into "Antique", Antique Plus", and "Open" (and a seperate V-8 Class) We will not be using the three categories, just weight classes. Since we are an antique tractor club, our rules normally require 1957 and older but others may be allowed to hook for this feature. Our practice is to allow a 1% margin of error on the weight. Looking for the most logical and efficient classes to fit the typical entrants, without forcing them to alter their display tractor, or excluding any models. There will likely be some awards, but we are as interested in comparison as competition. Some will take the contest seriously, others will just enjoy the oppportunity to participate. We understand both.
Thanks in advance for all suggestions

Frank, I have a Case 400 Racine and it s weight is 6060 pds with out me if I pull the wheel weights I think I could pull the 6ooo pd class. If things go , I plan to bring the her up there. The 400 was ready for the bone yard and I could not let that happen. Not painted yet but runs good

We set up our weight classes every 500 lbs starting at 2500 (and under), 3000,3500, and so on, that way the guys can add weights if they want to run again in a higher class, and it doesn't exclude any tractor, I guess the VAC is around 2200 and the LA is 7000.
Just a guess. Good luck and Have fun!

Based on what I'm hearing, I'm thinking
2750 Should cover V-series
3750 Unstyled R types etc
4500 S series
5500 D series
6500 Later types like 400, etc
7500 (anything heavier, Case 500 or such can pull with these
