I just changed the fuel filters on my dad's David Brown 880 and apparantly I didn't get the fuel filters filled back up before starting it because it ran about 3 seconds then died and I cannot get it to restart. I've tried using the manual primer but can't get fuel to the injectors. I am getting fuel to the pump however. How do I bleed the lines to the injectors? Thanks.

There are bleed screws on the top of the fuel filter housing that need to be opened and then operate the primer until clear fuel flows. After this you should check the bleeders on the injector pump, if it's a CAV pump, (I think it is on an 880) there should be two 11/32" hex head bleeder screws on the side of the pump facing you. (You might have to scrape off some crud to see them if it's very dirty.) Open these about 3/4-1 turn and operate the primer until you get clear fuel from these bleeders. After this, crack the fuel lines at the injectors, open throttle full with fuel stop on and crank engine. (Absolutely make sure tractor is out of gear with brake set!) You will get spurts of fuel when injector lines are bled. Tighten lines asnd go for broke. Be patient, and keep checking the bleeders for air if you don't get success right away.

Thanks very much! I'll give it try and see what happens.
