I am replacing the seals bearings and etc while I have my tractor split. Are the Case parts numbers cross referenced by suppliers. If I buy the parts manuel ($36 not that big a deal) is it a big advantage. thanks, gobble

It depends on how old your tractor is and how old the parts manual is, as to whether or not it will be of benefit. Usually, even if the seal has a Case number on it, a good parts supplier can match it up by measuring the seal outside diameter and the shaft diameter. Some of the guys on this site have complied lists of after market seal and bearing numbers for a particular tractor.
