I have a J I Case threshing machine sn# 5602452 in near new condition always shedded. Can any one tell me where I can verify the age? Thanks Warren Opp

My 28-47 thresher is #560267. I have always considered it a 1952.

Warren, In my book "150 Years Of J. I. Case" the last sn. listed is 1951 550001-550365 and as you can see these are six digit numbers. Also on page 243 of this book it says that Case announced in 1953 that they would no longer make threshing machines. In 1938 it seems that they started doing the sn. like tractors by dropping 4 from the first two digits ie 42001-422150 = 1938. If this is accurate then yours would be a 1952 but I have not seen any seven didget numbers like yours. Hope I haven't muddied the situation. Roger
