I found an old RC today that I might like to purchase. It has the Serial Number RC320978. I couldn't find a year match for it on the YT list. I sure would like to know the age before I purchase it.

I also found a newer tractor with no tag, but a block stamping of 180R04799. It is a desert tan and orange model, a number series I'm sure. Can anyone help me with a Model or Date on this one?

RC30978. 1st and 4th digit minus 3 = model year (39 - 3 = 36).

180R04799. I have a 1959 311B engine serial # 180R03205.

FYI, I saw a running '36 RC w/good tires all around (rears were new) sell at auction for $1,600 a couple of weeks ago here in SD. I was bidding on it for a while, but decided to let the young guy have it. (Besides, I think he had more $$$ than I did.) Single front (broken & welded up many years ago), cracked/leaking water jacket connection to head, but otherwise good. Started easily. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
