So far the Cases outnumber the Farmalls 4 to 3. Here's the beginning of the lineup. SC w/2-row planter, '48 DC and my "Lazarus" ('44 SC). Ain't he a thing of beauty? ";^)

Wish you were a little closer, we could bring a couple of DC's, 3-4 SC's, a pair of CC's, a 600 (the big one) and a 930. (That'd help the Case line-up.) Got a couple of Farmalls, too - 3 H's, a Stage I Super M, a Super A, a Super C & an F-12. They are all row crops, except the 600. The only ones that are WF are the 930, the Super C, the Super M & the Super A-the Super A was not built w/narrow front. Tricycles (narrow front) are WAY more common in our part of the world than any other configuration. Are tricycle's common in your part of the world? (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

In the old days, I'd say about 50/50. If anything, there were probably more wide fronts. Too many mountains. Even the flat land isn't very flat. And there ain't much of it, neither!

Narrow fronts were standard here in N.E. Kansas up into the mid sixties. Easier to run front mounted cultivators. Rear mounts came out and wide fronts took over. The wide fronts did make plowing easier, too.

I would estimate that 90% of the tractors in Indiana made before 1960 are narrow front and 90% made after 1960 are wide front. Wide fronts didn't catch on in this part of the country until power steering came along. We had an old 300 IH Utility w/o power steering and a loader. It was wide front and an arm killer. Uncle Mike used to say, "the more you drive it, the less you like it." I remember when he put the wide front on his IH 706. They had to change it back to narrow each fall when they mounted the corn-picker on it. In 1975 he and Grandad put up grain bins and bought a new 715 IH combine with a corn head so they started shellin' instead of pickin.

I had a 300 Utility just like the one you mentioned and I agree totally. I'm still grinning since the day I swapped it for my beautiful Farmall M. Never regretted it yet. The loader was dang near useless anyway.
The guy I swapped with is also happy so it was a good deal all around. I had one guy tell me that I took a small licking on it. I disagree. I threw in $500 and he did all the transportation between here and Long Island, NY!!!
