I have a chance to buy a Case 451 Diesel Engine That was from a Tech school Like in a Case 2090 Non Turbo. I'm thinking about putting this in my Case 1200TK? Will this engine bolt up? I know i'll have to retro the fuel lines throttle & etc, But Can I interchange engines? Please Help. Thank You Jeff From WI.

If the 451 is from a 70 series it may not bolt in,had a 1030 in the early 70's,also had a 451,engine went bad and looked at a complete 70 series engine to replace it,if I recall right the bolt pattern was quite a bit different. Not saying it won't work, but probably not just a bolt in.

I just realized that too! You may be right about the 451 in the 30 series and 70 series being a bit different. I think the fuel systems are completely different too. Sorry for not thinkin about this earlier Jeff! Might want to start another thread to get that answer or maybe call a Case dealer. If you don't get the answer let me know and I will call our dealer, the head mechanic is really smart on this stuff.

Thinking about it,the early 451's had powercells, the later had pencil injectors, early the pump was on the right side,70 series had the pump on the left,70 series had spin on fuel filters,30 series had cannisters.

From what i'm told it's a late model 451 with dirrect injection,Used for teaching students how to use a dyno. I was told it was first used in the early 90 series tractor according to the # on the Block? That's why the man bought it, thinking it was a 504 He'd use in his tractor. he looked it up & was told it's a 451? has maybe a 1000 hrs on it. Runs Very Smooth & Starts right up. What do you think I should pay? Thanks for all your Help guys. Jeff from WI.

I am almost positive NONE of the 90 series had the 451. Like said before the 2090 had a natural 504 and the 2290, 2390, and 2590 all had the 504 turbo. If it is a 451 natural it is most likely out of a 1070. We were told that our 1270 came with the 504 and I argued with the guy at Worthington Ag for 10 mins telling him that it was the original engine and it was the 451 turbo. Then he said that the later 1270's came with the 504. Wrong again, got a late model too and it has the 451. Curious now what that engine you are lookin at came from. I suppose it is worth about $3000- $4000?

It will bolt up but you may have to change the flywheel to the one orignially off the tractor itself. We just swapped a 2590 "504" into a 1270 which had the "451 turbo" and all fit just fine but had to use the flywheel off the 1270 and the starter off the 1270. Went from 125 horse to 180!

Cracked block let water into oil and ate the crank and bearings. Traded it for that 504 from Worthing Ag Parts.

All 90 series tractors used the 504 engine. If it's a 451, it's out of a 70 series. You can add a turbo to the 451 and be alright. The 504 used on the 2090, however, is a different matter. They used heads that had one of the valves, intake I think, recessed deeply into the head. That defeated the turbo, if you added one. They didn't want you to buy a 2090 and power up with a turbo, they wanted you to buy a 2290. But, I'ver heard of those 504's out of the 2090's putting out 130 hp. Which would be more than the 1200 had originally.

I think you can bolt it in, but what you will get performance wise may be another question. The 1200 has a turbo dosn't it? I know the 2470 does. If so you might be able to swap it over.
